Norman Huynh, conductor
This program will capture the imaginations of our school-aged audiences, as we present music written to tell stories through orchestral music. How did John Williams capture the adventures of “Peter Pan” through his music? Students will learn how composers tell a story through melody, rhythm, dynamics, and orchestration
The program will include:
Coleridge-Taylor: Danse nègre from African Suite
Mason Bates: The B-Sides: Warehouse Medicine
Beethoven: Symphony No. 6, fourth movement (“The Storm”)
Ravel: Mother Goose Suite
Jessie Montgomery: Starburst
John Williams: Flight to Neverland from Hook
