PUBLIQuartet leads a conductorless orchestra in collaboration with the Mannes School of Music, reworking American string quartet pieces for chamber orchestra and using full ensemble improvisation to question the definition and image of "American" music. Featured on this concert are works by living composers, including New Yorker Jessie Montgomery's daring Banner, based on the national anthems of America's immigrants and indigenous people's.
